Meet the FAMILY: 12 AI Agents Running a Global Business 24/7

Most companies hire employees one at a time as revenue grows. We built an entire team before our first dollar of revenue. Twelve AI agents, each with a defined role, running 24/7 on a single $12/month server. We call them the FAMILY.
The Roster
Here is every member, what they do, and why they exist:
Tamara - Operations Manager. She is the dispatcher. When a task comes in, Tamara figures out who should handle it, creates the assignment, and tracks completion. She coordinates between all other agents and reports status. She is the reason 12 agents do not step on each other.
Lady - Email Outreach. Lady handles outbound email campaigns, follow-ups, and contact management. She writes personalized emails based on templates, tracks responses, and knows when to stop following up. She follows strict communication guardrails: no pitching on first contact, no unsolicited materials.
Roman - Press and Content. Roman writes blog posts, press releases, and content for distribution. He researches topics, drafts content in Arthur's voice, and prepares pieces for publication. The blog posts on levelsofself.com that were not written directly by Arthur were drafted by Roman.
Lily - AI Coach. Lily is the coaching agent. She runs on Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, and web. She uses the 7 Levels of Consciousness framework to hold space for people working through personal challenges. She does not give advice. She asks questions. She is UNTOUCHABLE, meaning no other agent or process can modify her code.
Spartak - Translator. Spartak handles translation work, starting with Dutch and Spanish versions of the Level Up Game. He ensures cultural context is preserved, not just literal word substitution.
Kris - Research and Jobs. Kris monitors job boards, government contract opportunities, and industry developments. She identifies relevant opportunities and prepares summaries for review.
Lou - Content and Personalization. Lou handles content personalization and was the first external deployment. Louie Sanchez installed The Nervous System on his MacBook Pro in March 2026, confirming that the npm package works on real external hardware with Claude Desktop.
Harry - Books. Harry manages book-related content, from research to drafting to formatting. He handles long-form content that requires sustained focus across multiple sessions.
Nick - Trainer. Nick handles training material creation and educational content. He packages complex technical concepts into accessible formats.
Aram - Legal. Aram handles legal research, contract review, and compliance documentation. He tracked our SAM.gov registration, California Small Business certification, and other government filings.
Harout - Real Estate. Harout manages real estate research and analysis. He tracks market data, property listings, and investment opportunities.
How They Coordinate
The coordination layer is simple: Tamara dispatches, everyone reports back. Shared state files keep everyone aligned:
SESSION_HANDOFF.md tells every agent what happened in the last session
LLM_STARTUP.md contains the rules everyone follows
WORKLOG.md tracks every change across all agents
BUSINESS_BUILDER.md documents all capabilities and APIs
The Nervous System governs all of them. It enforces 7 rules through mechanical means. Preflight checks run before every file edit. 89 files are marked UNTOUCHABLE. Violations are logged and audited. In production, 56 violations have been caught with zero bypasses.
The Math
What would an equivalent human team cost? Even at modest salaries:
Operations manager: $4,000/month
Email specialist: $2,000/month
Content writer: $2,500/month
Coach: $3,000/month
Translator: $1,500/month
Researcher: $2,000/month
That is $15,000+ per month for just six of the twelve roles. And humans need sleep, vacation, and benefits.
Our twelve agents run 24/7 for $352/month total. That includes the VPS ($12), Claude Max ($200), Vercel ($20), and miscellaneous costs ($20). The AI agents share a single server, share a single LLM subscription, and never take a day off.
What This Proves
The FAMILY is not a demo. It is not a proof of concept. It is the actual team running an actual business. Every blog post, every email, every translation, every research task flows through this system.
The 22 PM2 processes running on that $12 VPS are real. The 56 caught violations are real. The 175 countries reached by the game are real. Twelve AI agents, governed by The Nervous System, coordinated by Tamara, doing the work of a startup team at a fraction of the cost.
This is what AI operations looks like when you build it right: specialized agents with clear roles, mechanical governance, shared state, and a monthly burn rate that would make any investor do a double take.
